Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers Immediate Past Master Malcolm Craig presented a cheque for £2,000 to the founder of Decibels, Ken Carter. The aim of Decibels is the promoting of arts-based education and training of disabled children and young people. Ruth Montgomery was born profoundly deaf but took up the flute when she was 12 which was the start of her musical career. In 2005 she graduated with a 2.1 Bachelor of Music Honours Degree majoring in flute performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. Ruth acts as a consultant with Decibels and runs a highly successful Colour Music project.
